... can't I use the one from my 6600? I have just recieved my phone from Orange, but at the moment want to switch between my 6600 and the 9500, if I register the new sim will the old one be black listed or cancelled? If I get both sims working I will only keep one phone on at a time, but do I really need to register the new one?
Sorry if this sounds stupid I just would like to know what happens, not sure who else to ask and although I have owned mobiles for 10years I never have looked into this.
Thanks for any help.
If you've cancelled the contract on your old SIM then that will stop working at the allotted time (often the end of the month in which you cancelled it). If you've not cancelled the contract (or it's a pay as you go SIM), and started a new one for the new phone then the old SIM will continue to work fine.
Sorry, re rereading my question I should have made my self cleearer. I have 'upgraded' my phone and theoretically accepted a new 1 year contract, but it is a continuation of my contract I have had for 10years.
So registering the sim I guess will associate it with my phone number, will that then disassociate the old sim or do they not bother thinking that you won't use it? If that is true I can keep using both phones without sim swapping.
Very few operators in the world allow keeping two SIM cards active for the same phone number. Whether your operator does or doesn't, you should really be asking them (so, call their customer service).
(sound of slapping hand on forehead) Yes I should do that shoudn't I? I didn't think of that 😃

Just out of interest, what'd they charge for the upgrade?
You will hate me if I tell you. 😃

Not if I can work a similar Oaracle... 😉
My monthly bill averages very high, so I guess they deemed me as a good customer not worth loosing, also I have been with Orange over 9 years.

This is interesting to me - I've got a P900 and am planning to move on/up to a 9300 but as far as i was aware you couldn't get it on orange.
I got a cheap deal on orange when i upgraded to the p900 by threatening to leave but as I thought Orange wouldn't supply a 9300 I didn't think I could do that again. I was fully expecting to have to change networks to get the 9300
So how did you get the upgrade from Orange then? Did you just phone and ask?
Thanks for any tips
Mark
Um , if you look I was talking about the 9500 not the 9300. Sorry
