Pc Connect

I am having problems with PC Connect with my new Sendo X phone. The mRouter icon shows the phone as connected using the USB cable but the PC Connect software won't recognise this connection and shows "Connect your phone". I have followed the advice in the Sendo site FAQs to uninstall and reinstall the mRouter drivers but this hasn't helped. I have referred this to Sendo support and they are looking into it. Their suggestions so far are to disconnect all other USB devices, disable firewall and virus software and close all other applications. This hasn't worked either.

Has anyone else had this problem and if so, what's the solution.

You haven't stated the Windows O/S you have, but if it's XP, make sure you disable it's in-built firewall too, along with the any third party one (eg: ZoneAlarm) you have installed.

Additionally, if you have the equipment, try to connect via infra-red and bluetooth, to see if they at least work. If you have another PC, try that too.

If it's a work PC, there could be a system/administration restriction, so see if it works when logged in as an admin user.

mRouter is also used by other S60 handsets (Nokia/Siemens) - if you had one of them before, do they connect at all on the PC?

Normally this is a firewall issue however, so start with that.

Oh, and is the mRouter the standard one from the CD / Sendo website, or the new (beta?) version from the Intuwave site, that someone recently posted a link for? If the new version, try going back to the old version.

I had a similar problem when I started - mine was solved by reinstalling the Sendo phone drivers - although my copy of XP had a little difficulty finding them - I had to manually select the drivers.

Thanks for that. I think that I have already done that when uninstalling and re-installing the USB cable drivers (I had to uninstall the USB Cable in Device Manager) and reboot. If that's not what you meant, could you please explain further.

Thanks for the advice.

I am using Win XP SP2 and have disabled both the Windows firewall and the System Suite firewall.

I have tried connecting using Bluetooth but this didn't work either, even though I am able to send images from Phone to PC and back again which proves Bluetooth is working.

The mRouter is the standard Sendo one, not the new version. I tried using the new version to fix my problem but this version didn't even recognise the USB cable was connected so I un-installed it and re-installed the PC Connect software again.

My son had some software installed for an old Nokia phone (now sold) that worked as far as I am aware but I uninstalled it before installing PC Connect.

I will have a go using my son's PC to see if works there, although this won't be a permanent solution for this as all my Outlook appointments/tasks are on my PC not his.

i installed the new mrouter and it did'nt recognise the phone was connected, so i went back to the older version on the sendo disc and it works fine. :icon14:
