I can never synch my 9210 contacts with outlook 2000. When the PC Suite task start it's says "reading" and after it's close and the log says "error in contact (no specified error)" .I try every setup in task manager and outlook. I have intalled outlook 2000 only for access the contact database because I want to send the 9210 to firm upgrade, and I need dump then contacts in to my 6210. Any help in both ways?

Hi!

I have a similar problem with my 9210 (OS version 3.18) I cannot backup the contacts DB, neither with the PC Suite under Win98 nor under Linux, using the plptools. Even though the file is listed in directory listings, Linux claims that the file does not exist when I try to copy it
mailtohep@linux~hep@linux~</a> > ls -l /mnt/psion/C/System/Data/Contacts.cdb
-rw----r-- 1 hep users 44552 Jan 1 1546 /mnt/psion/C/System/Data/Contacts.cdb
mailtohep@linux~hep@linux~</a> > cp /mnt/psion/C/System/Data/Contacts.cdb 9210
cp reading `/mnt/psion/C/System/Data/Contacts.cdb' No such file or directory

When I try to copy and past Contacts.cdb to the memory card, the Filemanager gives me a message that the file is in use. And that even though the phone is switched of and I terminated that contacts program (using Switcher).

I don't have any comparable problems with any other files.

Hans

You can copy the contact.cdb if you do it while backup is executing, because backup close all programs.

I now found a way to backup Contact data, although it is a bit cumbersome (thanks to www.aikon.ch)
Open Contacts, and create a new address data base on the Memory Card (Ctrl-B). Then, select all entries in the current database (Ctrl-A, or Menu-Edit-Select All), and then copy them to the new database (Ctrl-Shift-M, Menu-File(More Oprtions)-Move to), which may take a few minutes. You can now back up the new database from the Memory card.

Also that works backwards when you cannot restore your contacts.. someway the contacts.cdb is in use and you cannot overwrite it.

Please, help. I can't dump the contact into outlook for sent the phone to Upgrade Firmware.

I get the following error

"Synchronizer log file

Syncronizing task programer

Problem with the contact (no especified error)

There is a problem reading data from the contact.

Se ha producido un error al leer los datos de contacto

Synch ends
Updated 0 registers."

I move the database to another and move back too but I'm still getting this error, If I cannot dump contacts to outllok and I cant sent the phone to service... thank for your help.

Hola Bore, he visto que eres de Madrid, a mi me da el mismo error, no s como solucionarlo, tengo el firmware antiguo. has podido solucionarlo?, como lo has hecho?, es una putada el que no puedas pasar los contactos al Outlook XP

No, I cant solve it, I think could be because the old firmware.
