The Nokia 6638, a Series 60 CDMA based device suitable for the American networks has been approved by the US regulators (Mobile Tracker reports). No news on carriers or pricing, but there's probably a lot of US based Symbian fans about to call their operators and demoand they stock it. But what is with the extending ariel?
CDMA Series 60 Device Gains Approval
It's about time. I am ready to get rid of my Motorola T720 / 9290 pair and replace them with a single device.
I am with a CDMA carrier (which my employer chose and pays for) and continue to marvel that no Symbian devices are available.
Palm and Microsoft (Windows CE, Handheld PC, Pocket PC, Smartphone Edition or whatever it's called today) only seem to have dominance with CDMA carriers -- where Symbian has no offerings.
Offer Symbian on CDMA, and we will likely see the end of Palm and MS.
I am anxiously awaiting the 9500CDMA (or whatever they call it).
