What I have at this moment:

A channel protected my a bot on the undernet server group

undernet server group:
a network of irc servers, the one I use: irc.pi.be

channel name #allaboutsymbian (/join #allaboutsymbian)

a bot called Symbian; this is a program running 24/24 7/7 on a linux to safeguard our channel.

What I want to do:
publish the logs and have a search engine for it.

Add you all to the bot, so you cna control it and the channel.

create a irc tutorial with full listing of irc client and maybe small connection tutorial for some of them.
I hope J2TheIzzo could help me with WirelessIRC, Switchblade with a beos IRC and maybe someone with mac?

The chat will be accesible from the site using a java applet.

What I would like to know now is the following:
Which nickname do you want to use? (max 8 chars)
Plz give up 2 or 3 possible nicknames (in case 1 already excists)
for me this would be:
Dazler (never taken, thank you lord 😊 )
Warlocks
Pantera_

Greetz

Just a very mini tutorial of how you connect to the channel.
Just for peopl who don't know anything about it and want to chat using wireless irc

Sorry for the late reply!, I've been away (Code for DRUNK!) all weekend so I haven't been able to access a PC and the 7650 is rubbish for looking at this site (Or any site)

Dazler, can you please confirm when you have rec'd an email from me regarding Between software (Italy)

Cheers,

Izzo.

Should be in your mailbox.

Due to IRC being IRC I end up using SwtchBld as a handle, a far cry from SwitchBlade really but hell.

As for a BeOS IRC client, I use Bowser, available at: http://www.bebits.com/app/107

It's sooooo lonely and quiet in there, now there's been a netsplit and the bot ain't even there to be abused 😞

Is it just a "sit there, do nothing, keep quiet, keep the channel there" bot, or a funky interactive one with quote facilities and stuff.

I love quote facilities on bots, you never need forget a stupid comment someone has made then. Would suggest messaging but that's kinda covered by PMs here lol.

All isntalled (messaging)
It's a full eggdrop, with even a partychannel within it. Like a private chat within the bot.
It can perform all commands and can be scripted into anything you want.
I'll keep an eye out for the quotes thing.

Who knows ... it's just handy because you can help eachother giving commands and you can seethe commands the others try.

Doesn't work on my pc, but seems to work on everyone else their pc's 😉
Check it out ... Didn't had time for layout 😉

Just need to know if it works ...
Now all I need is someone to chat too :-?
Where were you?

Maybe we should get some "fixed times" for the "admin" chat...

http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/chat/clients/allaboutsymbian.EXE

this is the skinned/scripted windows client to chat with.

I first wanted to script it some more but because of the lack of time I'm leaving it like this for the time being ... should be good enough ... if people want I can add more features in for the next update 😉

Enjoy 😊 and comments are welcome 😉

And BTW my name is Dazler on irc 😛 But I'm not always around to respond but if you type /msg dazler <text> I will always receive it 😊

Thx 😉

BTW I used a lot of background in the thing to impress users but they can be turned of by pressing the icon in the window titlebar.
For example press the little icon next to #AllAboutSymbian and go to background to change it.
