My 6630 seems to have a rather annoying problem, the battery is full or nearly full but the amount of power doesnt seem to make a difference, but i'll come back to find my phone switched off when it was on the last time i saw it. when i switch it on its still got plenty of battery left.
A friend of mine with same phone has the exact same problem, im going to take it back to vodaphone and get them to sort it out, just wondered if anyone else was having this.
also on a slightly less important note, i tried making a video call with my friend with same phone and stand and we are in a 3g area, but it says not supported by network or not supported by remote network.
I feel a bit ripped off my voda 😞
i got exactly the same problem with my 6630
it keeps switching off, like 3-4 times a day, for no apparent reason
if you do find out why, could u let us all know, thanx 😊
chris
What firmware is it running?
Type *#0000# on main screen to find out
im running V2.39.151 on Voda UK
I know i could get it upgraded to the latest firmware, but i'll be without a decent phone for 2-3 weeks.
Cant reply on the switching off - mine has been fine, could be the voda fimeware on there, but for the video calls to work you need it provisioned on your tarrif - just give voda a call and they will switch it on for you.

My Vodafone 6630 worked fine while I had it so I don't think it is a firmware issue, have you tried a hard reset?
As will said you have to ring Vodafone and ask them to enable video calling for you

i am also having this same problem with my 6630 on voda and so is my partner i have tried to get voda to deal with this problem since early april we have both had replacement handsets and sim cards yet still the problem exists.it seems to be geographicaly based problem but the odd thing is that in the 5 months of owning this phone it has only developed problems in the last 4 weeks.when i say geographcaly based problem-my phone works perfectly well when in a strong 3g area such as london or bristol but where i live the 3g coverage is patchy and the phone seems to have difficulty jumping from 3g to gsm network which causes a software crash and the phone switches off.ive read that this could be a firmware prob but can this be realy the case?if anyone has a solution would be very helpful.
hm.. didnt actually realise that, but what you are saying does actually make sense!
In london i have no problems, in exeter where 3G is patchy, the phone switches off, and only started to happen in the past month!
Perhaps it IS geographically based after all
just to update everyone, i just got my phone back from voda/nokia after a week away. had to use some horrid sagem P.O.S glad to get rid of it.
so far it hasnt switched off (yet) and i spoke to the guy in the shop who enabled 3g for me (yey)
but despite specifically asking them to upgrade the firmware they didnt!
they just appear to have soft formatted the phone.
I COULD HAVE DONT THAT MYSELF FFS!!!
they are useless.
Is there any way i can take the phone to nokia and get it done? i dont fancy sending the bloody thing off again.
sick of the stupid screensaver text alert bug which is fixed.

Instead of taking it back to Vodafone take it direct to your nearest Nokia service centre, they will reflash it to the latest firmware
You can find your nearest centre here....
