Replacing my Ipaq - P910 vs A1000

Hi all - first post on this forum - complete newbie

I've had enough of my 4 year old Ipaq 3660. It's massive, the battery lasts about a day now, and I find I rarely use it. I went from a Palm V to the 3660 back in 2001. I used the Palm V all the time, took it everywhere with me and had my entire life in it - calendar, to-do's (my memory is pants) and all my contacts. I've never used the Ipaq the same due to its size and battery life. I've been thinking about changing for a while - primarily back to Palm. Recently, my company has started charging us for using company mobiles for personal calls so I've been also looking at getting a cheap phone for my own use.

Then the SE P910 and Motorola A1000 caught my eye.

Primarily, I'd want to use these for the PIM functions and secondarily for the phone functions. Is the PIM software the same on both? What's it like to sync to corporate Outlook 2003? Anybody got any views on them - I've trawled the web and it's hard to find screenshots. Can you use 3rd party software (I use Pocket Informant)? What's the battery life on both?

Any info or opinions greatly appreciated. Cheers

hey i got myself an A1000 i did have a palm but lost it. yeah the A1000 is brilliant but if you get it on the three network they dont like people going on the internet but there is a way round that i have worked out. It is pretty quick the pop up keyboard is pretty slow but thats a minor fall back. It has 24 mbs of internal memory and you can get up to 512 on the transflash card. All the usuall programs come with it remminders etc its easy to use. Its great with media and the sound quality is incredible for a phone. I used smartmovie and its almost like watchin a tv but smaller. The only big problem is it doesnt have a reset button if you crash it you do you need to take it back and get it reflashed or replaced hope this helps im a newb and only 17 lol

Andy

i would go for the A1000 also.
i was gonna get a p900(cant afford a p910 just yet lol) but i just got a a925(again, i cant afford a a1000 😞 )
and yes, u can use heaps of 3rd party software, ive got a site with heaps of files, which have been cracked, but i cant post it here, lol.

ps, how did u get around the net thing, waxstaff??
