How to reinstall OS?!

Hello there!

I have a big problem: In the last time, my Nokia 9210 Communicator didn't work that well. It also happended often, that the Screen just stayed black when I opened it to use it. I went to the next Nokia-Shop and asked for help and they advised me to press Ctrl + Shift + F when I reboot it. Next time the screen stayed white all time...
Meanwhile I found out that this was the Hotkey for formatting the internal disk... So now I have a Phone with a naked disk inside without any OS.
So I tried to reinstall it, but when I want to connect it to my Computer, PC Suite doesn't recognize it and so I can't even try to reinstall the OS.

Somebody knows how to reinstall the OS otherwise or is there no help in sight? :frown:

Thx a lot for help!

I think the best possibilaty is to get it to a Nokia service center where they can flash youre device. And tell the moron to format your drive to not tell this info to anybody else.
The firmware flash is not in the normal warranty but I think that iff you explain wat happend they will help you out.

The OS is in ROM (Read-Only Memory), so it can't be wiped with any operations you can do with the phone and its keyboard.

Ctrl+Shift+F is a reformat command and it reformats the writable phone memory (reset the phone to the same state it was in when it left the factory where it was made, more or less).

There's something else that's the problem with your phone than a "naked disk". Try your nearest authorized Nokia service center and request they try to reflash the phone with whatever is the latest firmware release (that will overwrite the ROM).

I have nothing else to say, exept that.. NAKED DISK!? omg lol roflmao xD... Sorry for kinda spammin'
