:redface: what version did the x ship with, and if there is a newer version where can it be had.

1.98.5.2 is the latest which can be downloaded from http://www.sendo.com/Sendo/Support/Downloads.htm
To see what version you have dial *#0000# on the phone.
To match the appropriate sales pack remove the battery and look on the label, it begins 8Y then match up with the software you download on the site.

Umm..he asked about the RealOne player version shipped with the X, rather than the firmware. This is one I wouldn't mind knowing myself....

Goto Real player and select Options/About product and you will see the version and product details. I think its version 3.1.240

I'd also like to know. I know you can get Helix Player but I tried it and noticed no difference so I removed it to free up more memory, is this an upgrade to the built in realplayer?

i was told the helix player is a fake rip off, i tried it on my x and it played.it also played mp3s but they were jumpy

The "newer" version is indeed the Helix player - Helix is the opensource implementstion of the latest Realplayer formats.

However, Helix doesn't really add much to what Real Player does apart from MP3 playback, however, it doesn't seem to do this very well either.

I used to use it, but then un-installed it and noticed a massive speed improvement. 😊
