ok - sanity check again. is it just me or does profimail sometimes keep the gprs connection active (even though it is set not to in the setup). anyone?

If you're talking about the built in one, I found that unless you exit properly, it will remain active i.e. exit using the right softkey, rather than the disconnect button.
It does warn you about disconnecting though...
profimail from lonelycats...
ok - so maybe i have narrowed it down to worldmate that is doing this. for whatever reason, once i exit worldmate (after doing a weather update) the gprs icon seems to stay up rather than the gsm signal icon... anyone else?
Are you sure WorldMate isn't configured to do background updates? On my handset Worldmate behaves fine, but I always make sure it's shut down GPRS before I exit.

it is configured to update twice daily, however i would have thought that meant that is pinged the gprs connection "when needed" instead of keeping it active. i have not had the time - but plan to test a few things on the wife's handset to validate the issue. perhaps i have not been waiting long enough (more than five minutes)?
