Solution to Problems with 6630

I have owned my 6630 for almost 2 months now and well......
From what i am seeing on the net most ppl crib about the SLOWDOWN on the phone after a lil while of usage.
NOTE that this process may even work for the 6600 and the 7610
Well i have a solution to that
This problem occours mostly after installing N-Gage games on the phone. This problem is beacuse the FILES in the SYSTEM->>>LIBS(on the mem card where the games are installed) folder are executed and stored into the memory whenever the phone starts thus causing the slowdown.
Another problem is the message "FEATURE NOT SUPPORTED" when you try to use the video on the 6630.
the following is a solution to both the above problems

1.open FeExplorer or any other FILE MANAGER and locate the LIBS folder on the memory card(or whereever the ngage games have been installed)
2.Rename the libs folder to "gdcLIBS"now restart the phone.

It will be as fast as it was when u first bought the phone.
But now Most of youre ngage games wont work(remember that using ngage games on other phones is ILLEGAL)

Now to make them work again rename the folder "gdcLIBS" back to LIBS and restart the phone.
Youre games will now work but the slowdown will happen again.

to go back to normal carry out steps 1 and 2.

the difference can be seen mostly when you have installed NGAGE games on the phones MEMORY card at some point of time or the other.
to workaround this problem i EARLIER used to format the phone and the memory card but with this new discovery you dont need to loose all your settings like that!

you can name it ANYTHINGlibs.......(GDC---those are just my initials).....JUST DONT NAME IT "libs"
the point of this is that on startup the phone does not recognise the "libs" folder once it has been renamed and so the slowdown does not happen anymore. From my experience i think certain LIBRARIES that come with the ngage games come in conflict when users try to access the CAMERA functions on our 6630 phones. The NGAGE has a workaround to this SLOWDOWN and as we all kno it dosent have a camera anyway and so this problem is not seen there

Hope this helps!,

PS- set the time to keep logs on the phone to 1 day....this also helps a bit
mods---it wud be nice if you made this post a sticky and please post other solutions to problems in this thread

Hey,

The only problem I see with doing this is that any other apps installed on the MMC will also now not work as their LIB files are located in the same folder.

I have not used any Ngage games on my 6630, so all I have is other 3rd party app LIB file's in this folder.

Also changing the log settings to 1 day has been around for a while so most people are already doing it.

A lot of the slow down in most of our case's is through the fact we like to try new apps as they come out. Removing them after is ok but I am sure some file fragments get left behind, leaving the memory containing useless information for apps that no longer exist.

Good idea's to try though.
