Prepaid N-Gage QD work with service?

Hello all. I was looking at buying a Cingular prepaid N-Gage QD at EBGames and was wondering if I could put my current SIM card in the phone and it work with my current service. So basically, is it only setup for prepaid or can I just use my Cingular serivce SIM in the phone with no problems? Thanks for the help in advance.

I did exactly what you are proposing and it woked like a champ for me. I didn't even have ot unlock my phone. I talked to a rep and they suggested that I never let the phone see the prepaid SIM that comes with it and just crank it up for the first time with my original SIM.

Worked beautifully for me.

Of course, I'll probably unlock it too...

Thanks guys, I got it and it works. I love this phone already!

Is there anything I should do with it now that I have it? Does anyone know where I can download some neat little free games?

Also, in what format should I put pictures in so I can place them on the phone?

As far as games go, I can't help you much there, but as for pictures, jpg's work fine.

If you're into loading audio files to it, I'd recommend getting Nokia Multimedia Converter 2.0. You can use it to convert audio or video files to compatible formats for the N-Gage.

If you're looking for some little mini-games, head over to n-gage-help.com and download their Java game pack. The images must be in .jpg form to be recognized by the 'Gage.
