virus and battary life span

I read somewhere before that a certain virus can affect the battary life span dramatically.

I think mine got infected, even though I did not browse the net with it for the last one mth. Nor did I received anything from bluetooth, multimedia msging..etc.

I am also curious how can a software affect the hardware? and how to resolve this prob? my batt life span is less than 8hrs for fully charged.

Go to Nokia service center and if you have garranty they will change your software. That helped me. I also got the problem as you do and now battery life is up to two and a half days.

Software by it's nature controls hardware.

This does not mean the the battery has been made faulty by the virus only that the phone is now puttin extra strain on it and that is why it's not lasting.

A simple test is to hold down the menu key. This will show any processes running in the background. Cancel any ya not usin and see what happens.

Ya still best gettin it flash at service centre just to be on safe side.

yeah as luna said, the only reason it drains the battery is because it turns on the bluetooth without your knowledge and keeps trying to send itself to other bluetooth devices. if you remove the virus ull be back to normal, u can use simworks antivirus or if you are more advanced look for it using an explorer program such as fexplorer and remove it manually

Holding down the menu key does not show all the tasks running.

I recommend downloading TaskSpy @ Click here for Main Site Information or Direct .sis download here. This allows you to really see all open processes and switch to/close/kill as well as a nice memory graph. 😊
