To anyone that heeds my call!
I've been trying for ages to get my motorola a920 to use the broadband on the laptop to connect to the internet. It is currently locked on 3. I have tried several different ways but to no avail so far.
Any help would be grateful! 😊

Ok, first of all make sure you have internet sharing enabled on your laptop. Once you've made sure that's done, all you have to do on the phone is to disconnect from 3.
Start the Phone application, go to Network in the Settings menu. Select a new band. When it tells you it's searching for network, press Cancel. Your phone will now use your computers internet connection instead of its own.
