Is it possible to change the IMEI of a 7650? Is so then how is it done or does anyone know where I can get it done?
Change IMEI?
Don't think so. That's the security of the phone. Unless you change the whole mother board and the chipset. Perhaps it will be changed
besides i think there some law against changing the IMEI.
Yes it can be done, and yes it is illegal.
I can't see any need for it anyway......Unless the phone is stolen or you plan sharing reg codes. :-?
Very dodgy if you ask me

What? I thought that IMEI can't be changed on N7650. But if this is possible then it is for nothing if your phone is stolen and you block your EMEI by operator. Thief just change it and can it use again :x :x :x
This must be simple to make phone with IMEI that can't be changed or not?

People always find ways around things, as far as I know it is possible with the 7650, but you would need specialised equipment to do it.
It is something which isn't really up for discussion 😉
Does anyone know where I could get it done?
yeah as has already been said, it can be done with the right equipment. I have been told that when phones go to nokia, or any other mobile manufacturer, to be reconditioned and sold on, they are give new imei numbers as the previous one might have been registered to a user, or registered as lost/stolen.
ewerk702, if you are from the uk (cant see your location from the 'Post a reply' window :/ ) then imei changing is illegal here. You might want to try another country that allows it 😃

i wouldnt even try if i were you. since its not really definite yet, the process, for all we know such thing can bugger the phone. just a thought. and sorry, but really cant see the point of changing the IMEI, aside from the reasons Jizzo mentioned. 😃
Yes it is possible to do so. A little bit complicated than flashing the other nokia phones since 7650 is Symbian. The software upgrade, I think, is flashed to your 7650.
If you tamper with the phone, you are going void your warranty, and you may violate some laws that apply.
I love your logic!!!! Hahahah

I think that there is a website dedicated to mobile phones reverse engenering.
www.nokiafree.org - try it.
But if you end up in jail, you dont know me 😊

😃 😃
You are all barking up the wrong tree, this phone has an otw chip (one time write) and therefore cannot be changed, sorry but your phone is scrap
Isn't it obvious that ewerk702 has either bought a stolen phone or stolen it himself? What other reason could there be to want to change the IMEI, apart from to use a barred/stolen phone?
firstly changing the imei in the uk (and other countrys) is now ilegal and could result in up to 5 years in jail!
Secondlt the equipment needed to change an imei on a dct4 nokia cost thousands.
hth
sup.
no you can't change your imei number because they catch you over GPRS...! greetz ThaCruts
The man just asked for some help he did not ask for the laws you know if you want to change it then change it if its your phone then do what you want with it........... I had a contract phone but because I did not pay the bills they cut it off... so now im paying the bill back in instalments and they wont put it back online till iv paid it all back.. So im just going to change the IMEI number... its my phone and im paying for it so dont you think im allowed to do what I want with it..
The phone is yours, but like it was previously said, its illegal.
BTW: Discussion of that sort(Unlocking handsets, chaning IMEI numbers, warez) are not alowed on AAS.
