You wait ages for a decent, card-based satellite navigation system for the Nokia 9500 (and 9300) and then all of a sudden two come along at once! Navicore Personal comes on a 256MB card and is available from June 1st (and also available in Series 60 form), while TomTom MOBILE 5 comes on a 128MB card and is supposedly already out now but will probably take until June 1st to actually get into shops. We'll contact Navicore for a review copy as soon as we can; in the meantime, I have TomTom's 9500 version of MOBILE 5 and I'll be posting a review in the next few days.
Aarrghh. Just like buses!
I've been road testing Navicore for Series 80 for a week now, I must say its the best Navigation software I have seen for any platform. I have used Tomtom both for PDA and Mobile, Copilot, Mapopolis.
You will just love the software on your Nokia 9500/9300.
BUY IT !!!

Hmm... have you got a personal affiliation with the company by any chance? 8-)
I'm looking forward to road testing Navicore, I'll get in touch with their PR people. I've had a look at the Navicore web page and it looks like it has 60 to 70% of the functionality of TomTom MOBILE 5, although as it's brand new there may be some maturity issues to work through....

Not at all.
I have given up on Tomtom Customer Services. I placed order for upgrade on 14th April, they debited my credit card on 4th May and still no sign of the upgrade.
They had promised 5 weeks for delivery - the 5 weeks deadline is tomorrow.
I have now had to get my credit card company to get the money back as Tomtom do not reply to emails.
I am much happier with Navicore - it does what its suppose to do and does it very well. The user interface is very slick and well thought up.
But Navicore is not yet compatible with s80.
I am for one willing to wait to see what a review says with a objective comparison between the two. Steve has already reviewed Tomtom 5, and you have obviously not had a chance to see the improvements yet. When Steve reviews Navicore I am sure he will compare it as he has done with the other systems.
Also when you choose 'where to buy', on the Navicore site, it only mentions a few countries, so be aware British people there may not be coverage for us yet, so you may have trouble testing it Steve.
It looks like I will have to wait longer for my decision on which routing app I will buy 🙄

Although I myself played with Navicore on the 9500 last winter at the Symbian Expo. I've no idea how it's been progressing since then...
Steve
I was just looking at compatible devices on their webpage.
I have been testing Navicore on my Nokia 9500 for last 2 weeks. It works very well. I believe they will start selling from 1st June in O2 retail stores.
I have now noticed that TomTom Mobile 5 is now available from TomTom's website,
I have been having lots of problems with TomTom Version 5 software and am so tempted to move away from TomTom,
I would luv to use SatNav on my Nokia 9500,
The problem I'm having is deciding which one to go for,
The ideal thing would be to see both of these products in action together,
I'm concerned that Navicore is 250 and TomTom is 200,
I had a responce from Navicore about the high price (Only when compaired with their S60 version):
'Because Navicore for Series 80 is totally different product.'
TomTom's S80 isn't 50 more!
Also you can't use OV2 POI's in Navicore, you need a convertor, which they said:
'There is POI-editing tool for PC under development. It's very simple to
edit POI's with it. But as i said it's not ready for consumers yet.'
O2 is the only place listed to distribute in the UK but the O2 store near me didn't know anything about it,
I would like to switch but I need convincing, also I would like to know how the speed compares between the 2,
Carl,

Well, when Navicore get round to sending us a review version....
I still use TomTom MOBILE 5 on my 9500 and love it to bits. With the newer TT GPS it's pretty robust.
