hey im just about to buy a new 6630 and i see it comes with a 64mb MMC, i have been told that the MMC for a 6630 is much smaller than the MMC for other phones (6600). I just wanted to know if u can still use the normal MMC's that fit in 6600/6230's as i have a 128mb one of them.
thanks,
Akhil

Nokia 6600 use Std MMC
While Nokia 7610 use RS MMC

And Nokia 6630, Nokia 6680 use DV (Dual Voltage) RS MMC.
They are small as well as dual voltage.

thanks for that,

but does this mean i cant use theses mmc in a normal mmc reader. as on my laptop i have a mmc read which fits std MMC perfectly. but i am thinking if i slot this DV MMC in it mite get stuck :frown: ???

thanks but i ment a membory card reader as in a pc.
i got the slot at the front of my computer for a std memory card readed but will a DV be able 2 fit into this slot?

Ya sound confused so thought I'd help.
The nokia 6630 uses a Dual Voltage Reduced Size Multi Media Card (DV RS MMC)

Dual Voltage(DV) means the card can be used with machines running 1.8volt or 3volts
Nokia 6630's and 6680's run at 1.8volts.
PC card reader's and older Nokia's use 3volts.
Hence the card works fine in both

Reduced Size(RS) means the card is half the size of a standard MMC.
To use RS MMC in a standard MMC slot you need an adaptor. This clips onto the RS MMC making it the same size as MMC.
The adaptor comes free with the Nokia 6630. They are also, usually, suplied when you purchase a new DV RS MMC

Hope this helps
