I'm surprised Michal (My-Symbian.com) hasn't received a little more support about this. I feel Michal was perfectly jusitified to be upset about the original post, and even more so given that not even the slightest hint of an apology has been made. And he definately does deserve one IMHO.
I agree that this has drawn on a bit too much, but just felt that Michal was getting a rough deal here.
Any comments for/against AAS and My-Symbian is a bit pointless really (at least in this thread) because both sites are really very good. The more support for Symbian (and the more choices for Symbian end-users) the better.
As mentioned by others, the forum used on both sites (the backend, the way it works, the graphics, everything!) is all part of a standard freely available distribution, and has been implemented verbatim on thousands of sites all over the net. It's an obvious choice (if you use/have access to PHP) so it really doesn't matter who implemented it first.
I'm guessing that because TheSpecialBoy is so active he is a knowledgable person, but everyone (without exception) is wrong from time to time. Just have to swallow your pride and accept it when it happens. No big deal.
Just thouhgt I do a qucik reply to this thread which I have now read through with interest. As I said in my original reply this isn't my forum software or Michal's for that matter. We both (very sensibly if you ask me) using an opensource script. If anything I think Michal deserves praise for swithcing too phpBB (IMHO better than a newserver), not to mention the consistancy if you use both sites (nice and easy to use when you dont have to change back and forth between styles).
If I'm Honest I kidn of just skim read the post from Special Boy and read the things he said. I think he made an honest mistake with regards to the forum, but reading his post again he certainly was as polite as he could have been to Michal (although calling Michal the other guy may be put downable to the fact he didn't know your name). However as you say calling you a spy is a bit steep! I didn;t reply I guess because I knew it wasn't true (and I think most others would realise that); perhaps in retrospect I should have said something. I'd agree with MaleBuffy that its not my/pur place to remove such comments (free speech and all that - I mean there's been a few posts suggesting improvements could be made to this site, although most of the abusive stuff arrives by e-mail I'm glad to say), perhaps in future mods could keep an eye out for such posts and reply appropriately.
I think Ant makes a very good point. AAS / My-Symbian both provide an invaluable service to the community. Micahl and I keep in touch by e-mail and I think I'd be safe in saying (I hope you dont mind me saying this Michal) that we both respect each other and get on fine despite never have met each other!
I guess the biggest problem is that only those who are aware of everything going on (e.g. phpBB being openSource, friendly contact between the 2 sites, Michal's CHARITY software shop etc. etc.) really know what the situation is. Perhaps a good piece of general advice - be careful what you say you very rarely know everything! Those that do know don't bother posting 9cause they know), but those that dont are left with the original post. Like I say moderators keep an eye on this. I know it hard with so many posts going through, but please try!

p.s. Just a point of note - Special Boy has been contacted about this (and effectively given a warning).
This post was made when I was a litlle boy on AAS. I guess at that time (1 month after joining) i did not know exactley what`s going on.

i think many peoples on my site read AAS and My-Symbian sites why the most german user can read english, but not the other way.....is not a problem for me, i reroute english users to your sites...😉
But all Symbianpages must help the other one, then is to much warenz on the net....i fight with smartappz against this and make more the 5 sites down....but this is very low.....;(
