it is highly frustrating!
I just bought the Nokia 3230. I use the headphone to listen the mp3 but the sound quality is very poor. (worst than radio quality). I wrote an e-mail to Nokia from last week but still no feedback right now!!!!

i've noticed. Another thing is that the volume is very soft and i can hardly here it when im out.
There wont be any software update to fix the mp3 quality. It just simply is not possible. Nokia is not gonna help u either.
ps its good to do a little research before buying a phone, or atleast look at its features and see the the mp3 is mono.
This was discussed many times at the forum. Try checking that and u might find how to atleast increase the volume somehow.

1. the manual never show that the mp3 is mono
2. I used Nokia 6230 before, the sound quality is good. So, I never think that the performance of 3230 will be worst than the old model when I buy it.
3. I found another mp3 player program for S60, the volume can be increased but the sound is still mono.

You will never get stereo on the 3230. From what i have read in the past it needs some sort of dual processor to process an mp3 into 2 channels to create stereo and that hardware isn't built into our phones. Whereas FM is broadcast in 2 channels so it is easier to just amplify the 2 channels that already exist. I know alot of people think since it has stereo FM then why not stereo mp3, but it don't werk dat way.

Actually I received a offical reply from Nokia around 2wks before (because I wrote a complain e-mail to them before). What they replied is............this model (3230) does not support stero output. They told me that only have mp3 stereo logo printed on the box then the output will be stereo. if the box don't have this logo, then it is mono only.
They advise me to buy 6680 but I told them I just bought 3230. (I really want to f............. them!)

1. If this phone, being launched in 20-Fc#king-05, (in the era where i-pod is GOD�s Personal Gift) boasting of FM Radio and MP3 Player ACTUALLY has STEREO???
a. For FM *AND* for The MP3 Player???
2. If this phone can handle Incoming *AND* Outgoing Calls???
3. If SMS, can be received *AND* sent?
I can go ON and ON and ON, being sarcastic, but the point is, this is a LOUSY Piece to be advertised to and positioned at the YOUTH segment. Even an Old guy like I, (29 Years) enjoy my music. (My neighbours know when I am sleeping- whenever my music is off�😊
I downloaded 6 Pages about this phone from various sources. I have been checking out the features and all that for the last 2 months�
Guess I did a rather pathetic job. *More Pathetic* than what Nokia did with this Phone.
I did not visit any message boards� Now; I know that I know�
I saved money like crazy to get this phone.
I still am in LOVE with the features and the functionality this Gizmo offers.
However, I am SAD!!!
PS. (When you Assume, U make an ASS out of ME and you definitely are one, to be assuming things�)
