I just bought an X via e-bay, now i want to get it unlocked, so i call Vodafone UK to give them my imei code and get rid of the darned lock.
They ask me if i know the original phone number that was given with the phone, otherwise they cannot unlock the phone. Is that true or are they bullshittiing me!
Now after hearing that i surfed the net for someone who could get it off, i entered the code and all, now i get an e-mail back saying: there is no code available.
AAAAAAA what is this, are those dudes at Vodafone ignant or something like it??
Or is it just that they ran out of codes, i just want the thing to work using my own sim card.
Maybe one of you guys can tell me what is going on, then i can phone Vodafone UK again, and try to get the unlock code again.

I would call again, I think they are having you on.
I recently sold a Sendo X on eBay, and due to a mistake on my part the buyer had to get it unlocked (which I paid for), and he had no problems. AFAIK he did have to give the details of the sim he wanted to use in the phone, but he never asked me for the original phone number of the phone, and I never gave it to him......

The NCK codes are owned by the network service provider who original bought the phone from Sendo. Just because you are on Vodafone doesnt necessarily mean the phone was originally supplied to them. Hence why Vodafone asked you for the original owners mobile number and/or SIM number. Alternatively contact the original owner and ask them for this info and where they bought it then you will know who to contact to get the NCK code.
Vodafone are the only UK network to have locked the X (and I believe the only one overall) - therefore, a locked X is 99% likely to have originally been on Vodafone UK.
(especially easy to spot, as the Vodafone handsets have a different initial boot logo)

Yes but F4cT0r didnt mention which country it was originally from and Sendo did supply the handset to other countries and network service providers SIM locked.

Why do you guys need the phone
number that came with the phone to
get the sim lock off the thing??
Because i dont know the number and
the guy i bought it from doesnt
know it either.
And when i tried to get it off
through a store in my town they got
an e-mail back saying there are no
codes available???Can you please
tell me what is going on??
Because now i have bought a phone
that isnt working and i also know
that you have to give me the unlock
code because i think the phone is
over 1 year old.
Please help me otherwise i have
spent a lot of money for nothing at
all.
and here is their reply
Dear Mr Buijs,
Re Mobile Telephone Number -
Thank you for your mail dated 24/05/05 regarding the unlocking of your handset.
We will only unlock handsets that we have the original phone number for. This prevents the fraudulent unlocking of handsets.
Without the original phone number, we will not unlock this handset.
I trust you will find this information useful. If you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Yours sincerely,
Ruth Claridge

And when i called them they said it will be done in 2 weeks??? I'm confused.
Strange company :banghead:
Well, i have been on the phone talking to vodafone UK for 3 days, and everyone is telling me something different, but today i had a girl on the phone who told me that my X is not in their database so i cannot get a NUC.
In other words, stick it up your ass, the bill i'm gonna get for talking to them is worth at least a new X, the bastards, so now i have a phone that doesn't work. BUT:
the good news is i already sold it to some dude who wants to try to unlock the thing another way, i think he wants to hack the thing, well, maybe it will work out for him, i will have my X, one way or another.
Peace
