5G BT Headset - First Impressions

My first descriptive word for a first hand impression of NextLinks 5G BT headset out of the box would be impressive. The packaging alone sets it in an elite class of its own. Im an avid SE BT headset fan and they usually deliver on presentation, however, Id have to say Nextlinks decor on this one is a bit more posh.

Size: Marketing hype was not deceiving at all. I can easily shadow the headset with the first digit of my thumb. However, I can easily see myself lose this with ease as I did with my Bluespoon Digital and Ax both of which I had to replace recently.

Comfort: I would have to say it sits quite comfortably in my ear. The unit comes with two soft springs of varying sizes. Its an easy application process and appears to stay snug on the speaker just fine. Housing is soft as that of the AX model.

Instruction Manual: Instructions are broken down into a conditional step-by-step format. This particular type of formatting is useful in the sense that it simulates a pseudo interactive feel to the user. On the other hand, I did notice that the instruction page for the charging does not illustrate what the charger led should show when charged.

Construction - There are two leds on the charger, one of which remains on to indicate a USB connection. However, the charger does get a bit hot while charging and could possibly cause some discomfort if one is to hold on to it too long. The hard shell gold carrying case is certainly a plus for those that need to protect the unit on the go. The case fits the headset plus the additional 4 batteries (no description of battery type). The aluminum case is small enough for me to palm it in my hand or slip into my shirt pocket. It snaps shut pretty tight and would require some force for the contents to slip out. The headset its self employs to volume buttons seems to be soft to the touch and easily manageable.

Sound TBA

Connectivity TBA

I will follow-up and fill in the missing sections in this preliminary review as soon as I get enough time to play with this. I am not expecting much out of this headset as Nextlinks sales pitch focused primarily on its size. That in itself makes it an exclusive headset that should be taken seriously as the global market seems to be catching up to the BT headset hype. Some parts of the western world seems to be adjusting to the notion of utilizing a wireless headset and break away from the traditional tethered units where other parts of the world seem to be competing for the most stylish headset that would help separate it from the pack. So 20 BT headsets later I have now added the 5G to my collection and hope to squeeze as much fun out of it as I can. My testing will be performed with a P910i initially then Ill move on to my various other headsets and device. Including a Land Phone which has BT capabilities.

5G First Hand Impression = Impressive
