Image stitching application

I have a need to upload a huge scanned image, of which i want to be able to scroll around small sections of it (to be precise, ita a roadmap...)

I would think its going to be in the region of 6000 x 6000 pixels, maybe even as high as 8000 x 8000, and i'll be scanning it in small pieces initially, then stitching it in Photoshop into one huge JPEG...

In a way, its a crude map viewer, as similar Symbian apps exist, but properly done, unlike my idea which is just a way of scrolling around on a small screen.

Any applications spring to mind?

I think this application is worth looking at, doesn't cost that much and uses GPS for navigation. I use it besides my route planners for backcountry navigation (off road..)
There are some other apps wich do the same job.
