it is possible to upgrade my 7650 by it?

or not....

Anyone ? Is there a firmware update for this new release ? It sounds exciting and better. I dont see many people talking about firmware on here. Only wishing for things that wont ever be on their phones like a memory card. I think you should deal with reality.

Sounds like 3650 firmware, with both integrated XHTML-browser and RealOne Player being announced features of that phone.

Afaik you can't update to that one, at least not at the moment.

The 7650 will always have the Series 60 1.0 and not the 1.2! There are no plans of Nokia updating the Micro-Kernel (The Series 60 book is usefull at last). The 3650 currently has the Sereis 60 1.0 as well! I dont know about the release ones though!

WOW, that really is a shame... Bad Nokia, bad!
So the new 1.2 version won't be compatible with 1.0, and other manufacturers like Samsung and Siemens will be using the 1.2???!
I think it MUST be possible to upgrade to 1.2 in the future.... :agrue:

Did anybody notice that the Series 60 SDK supplied by Nokia is version 0.9, not 1.0?
I think we, users of Nokia 7650, are all beta testers for a next generation Smartphone OS. And Nokia 3650 will be the first "Release" product based on Series 60.

Hmmmm, I am not sure if they are backwards compatible, might be! This does not mean that all programs will not run etc, just the ones that will use the latest APIs! However, lets hope for an upgrade! Anything can happen!

I'm pretty sure that SDK v0.9 doesn't say anything about the phone-OS. There's also a MIDP SDK for Series60 v0.1, that doesn't belong to either systemsoftware or java-version. It just means that the SDK is not final, not that the phone isn't final, imho.
