Changing default system Font

2 replies · 3,039 views · Started 27 May 2005

Hi , is it possible to change the default font in all communicator-applications ? I really whould love to use a smaller and nicer font (just like the one in profimail)

Thanks and regards,
amorph

This is what I have done to get some of these fonts reflected in Documents, SpreadSheets and Presentations and Opera Browser. Hope you want to do the same.

I have created a folder with name Fonts under the System Directory in the Commy.
Then Copied some of the Windows Fonts to that folder.
Restarted my Commy.
All the Fonts that I have copied were available in these applications.

However Opera will take some default font. You cannot change it. I was not able to find any possibility to make Opera Browser to take my choice of font as default.

If you want to delete any fonts from this folder any time later, make sure that you follow these steps:

Rename the Fonts folder under System in the Commy to any other name.
Restart the Commy and then delete the fonts.
After you delete make sure that you rename the folder back to Fonts.

Or else there would be an error that fonts are being used by the System and cannot delete them.

Hope this is what you are looking for.

Let me know what you feel about this.

Thanks cracklenet for your tips. I've something like that in another forum. Unfortunately this doesn't change the front for all the system applications (e.g. Mail, Music Player, ... ) . There must be a method to replace the default font somehow. I did replace the default font on my p910i and everything looks so much better. i whould love to do tha on my communicator too .

greets and thanks
