Hi, i have a 6630 at the moment but have been looking at the 6680, whats your opinions is it worthwhile me changing to a 6680?

My personal opinion, also being a 6630 owner is no. There is not enough to justify a new purchase but as I said thats my opinion, I for one will be waiting for the N70 which seems to be an upgrade in the true sense.
just looked at the N90, that looks a nice phone and is expected in july but that will probably be pushed back as usual 😊
think i`ll hang on for these new ones

No, I don't think that it's smart to go from 6630 to 6680. Not too many upgrades. Wait for the N-series.
Well, since you already own a 6630, then i would say no. Unless video calling is very important for you. But for new owners, i would say 6680
Its is of course entirely up to you. The benefit of the 6680 is a slightly more recent version of the software (and even that's debateable). You get Active Idle screen and as others have mentioned the front facing camera to allow for video calling. Its a different design which you may prefer. On the whole thew changes are relatively minor and I think most people in your position would want to wait, but let's face it a lot of us here are phone fans and just like to have the latest toy!
my friends dad switched from a 6630 to a 6680, i dont know though dont think i would do it, but im getting a 6680 inshallah after tommorrow my current phone is the 3650 so it deserves the upgrade

i am happy with my 6680.
you can also search for n70 which is coming out soon from nokia. similar functions with 6680 but with bigger internal memory i think around 30mb!
for those comapring 6630 to 6680 , you might want to start comparing 6680 vs n70 .
i got my 6680 a couple of days ago. I LOVE IT!!! the best phone ever! but that will always be the case. but its the most excited i have been over a phone

In my opinion the 6680 it�s just like a 6630 but slower in every single function... why? .. because of the 18 bit display ... same CPU speed... all the bechmark keep putting the 6630 as the fastest Nokia S60 ever ... even faster than the new upcomming N Series... same reasons ... by the way the N90 really suck in speed...

Agreed with u that N900 is suck in speed , i have the demo video and count the startup time when the guy switch on the phone , guess what 1 min and 20 sec!!!! to startup the phone . much slower compared to N6600!!!

Trouble is the benchmark only tests it Java capability, not the symbian functions.
In all other respects the 6680 is faster and as such is a superior phone to the 6630, not by much, but enough.

Ok look like you don�t see the numbers? ... 6680 it�s SLOWER in ALL aspect compared with 6630 ...
The 18 bit display make it SLOWER because the CPU at same 6630 speed need now to process much more colours ...
6630 it�s 16 bits... that�s why it�s FASTER... what you don�t understand here?
Just press the options menu and compare the speed of the popup scroll up ... of that menu ... on 6600 it�s slower than 7610 for example ... on 6630 it�s faster than 7610 ... 6680 use the same cpu but it�s loaded with 18 bit display ... so it�s slower... did you tested both on your hands? (6630 vs 6680) ? ... and benchmark are not only on JAVA.. .only JB bench are java.. all the rest are common tasks.. USER INTERFACE it�s SYMBIAN... not JAVA... on all S60 Nokia phones...

I have both the 6680 (business) and the 6630 (home), I use both everyday the 6680 is faster. (and with the active today screen more useful as well)
I have a 6680, and the speed is acceptable, with change to spare...
What is the use of having "pissing contests" over how fast it is?
it has more colours, hence slower, but looks prettier :P
anyway, i havent noticed much difference between my 6680 and my sisters 6630.
maybe because Im using real life apps and not benchmarks(waste of time imo, unless your life depends on the phone)
anyway, from a 6630 i wont go to a 6680,
but i upgraded to 6680 from an ancient piece, so it was worth it...
having no problem, playing well, doing work well...
and feels nice in my hand 😊
I own both of these phones and my advice is
If you own a 6630 - Don't bother buying a 6680. Not much difference.
If you own any other phone - Buy a 6680. Better of the two 😊
Well I like both phones. both have a great features... the only thing that I didnt like this phone is thier muvee app... well when It comes to video resolution 6680 is better than 6630..
Yeah 6680 plays back videos better and has a better looking shape,the additional cam also makes it better for 3G video calls. :icon14:
i upgraded from the 6630 to 6680 with orange for free so ive got no axe to grind.
i have to say the 6680 is far better looking and easier to use espec for video calling which we use a lot and the main reason we upgraded.
i cant say there is any noticable speed diff between the two, the screen looks a whole lot sharper on the 6680.
the battery seems to last a whole lot longer too.

If somebody says the 6680 is faster than the 6630 I guess the wish is father to the thought.
im sure its faster on paper....
but when you actually use them you cant notice any difference
