I have ordered Sigmatel's Irda USB Adapter for my nokia. Have someone try something like that and is it going to work with the pc suite for 7650?
Informations about IrDA
There has been no problems with any IR product, mainly because native windows support. 😊 I have tried 3 diifferent IR products my self and they all work fine. no problems.
Bluetooth is a different story 😞
Thanks. Sadly i cant find any bluetooth card right now. I am still waiting for MSI kt4-ultra with blue-key to arive here in Macedonia. So maybe it will. For now there is only the cheapest kt-4 without any brackets.... 😞((
ARMac: Bad choice for MotherBoard,i had the MSI's KT-4 hype, but after a couple of online researches i found out it was not worth it.The MSI tranceiving key is worth geting.

In Macedonian : Zdravo,Od kade si? od Skopje? Ako znaess kade mozze da se naracca samo tranceiving key-ot od MSI te molam izvesti me.KT-4 mislam deka ja ima kako ponuda vo flamingo.
I have the sigmatel IRDA adapter. And it works great for me. The drivers that came with the product were not working fine.So i had to download the latest ones from the Sigmatel website. Now it works fine.
Hi, i have the MA 620 infra red thingy and it doesn't work with the nokia 7650 data suite, it doesn't detect that there's a phone when connected. to be a little more specific, my windows detects that there is a phone connected, allowing me to send files to it and from it, BUT the nokia program itself i think it's the nokia connection thingy, doesn't detect that the phone is there, could any onehelp please?
i'm new here so please bear with me.
thanks everyone
NK
You dont need that nokia connection manager, you just have to have that mRouter program assigned to correct COM port. and when it has found a device and connected to it,
then start the PC suite, and it will find your phone. (hopefully)
After that it should work correctly.
Hi..
I am using the ChipIR IrDA adapter.....and it is working perfect wiht my 7650 and PC Suite..... 😃
Thanks to you all. My Sigmatel irda is arriving from Greece soon. I hope that i wont have any problems.
One more thing, how is going to appear in the mRouter? Something like USB IrDA? or?
I didn't tell you , recently i have bought ARM-100 Irda Board attachement (ASUS) And conected with my MSI Kt266-Board. It was working when i was connecting it with another PC (laptop), but in the mRouter it appears only like IrDA without COM port next to it, and when i was trying to connect it with my N7650 it was not working. Neighter the phone was connecting (it Was irda enabled). why ? BIOS settings whas Half (tryed full also) duplex ASKIR mode (as msi only have 1/16, 3/16baud and ASKIR) and yes my phone is working couse in NSC was connecting with their laptop. I have also photographed the Irda on the phone (little trick with mirrors and the one on the PC they both blinks) Any idea why it is not working. Btw what type of IrDA connection is this nokia supporting? Maybe its FIR or PIR and that is why its not working?
I have an Infineon IR adaptor, by far the easiest way to send and recieve files is using the microsoft's wireless link, which shows up when you connect your 7650, and its an icon on the desktop that shows temporarly when its connected only.
I had problems with the nokia data suite, but i solved them somehow, i think i changed the com port in the mrouter thingie, just like JyriK said!
Alotta times i wonder, why didn't they make a USB cable for the phone? It'll really be easier! and cheaper!

I guess for doing this, it might spoilt the look of the phone? hehe. 😉
Or a conspiracy with Bluetooth/irda makers ? :-?
But Bluetooth has been worth the money though 😃
Or its because just the USB connector is 3-4 times bigger than the Irda circuitboard.
