:frown: Dear everyone ,
I have been paying attention to this Forum for months and i eventually wanted a sendoX myself
thus, i got one through expansys.ca
i was very excited this afternoon when i first got it.... honestly, the screen is good , but it was a little bit bigger than i expected...
anyways
i quickly changed my SIM card into the new sendoX.........
and everything was fine..... but i just can't make calls or recieve any calls....
then i try to start the phone without a sim card, i got the error message " insert sim card"
then i tried to put it in again and again.....i am pretty sure i put it in the right position and i pushed it in totally.....
as the phone needs a sim card to boot, the phone can actually dectect my sim card , but it can't get any information out of it because i tried to get my contacts out of the sim... which did not work at all....

I live in Canada and i am using Fido as my network provider....
.......
i don't think my phone is locked , caz i got it directly from Expansys.ca
and i don't see the "Vofanne"(don't really remember the spelling) wordings that you guys always mentioned anywhere .......

i am very discouraged.... .............
now i can listen to mp3 and take picture and play games....
but i just can't make and recieve calls.....
.......

i dont know to cry or laugh...
i just got a new phone that can't call ... but fun????

PLease ...
anyone
give me a hand.....
THanks

Can you make calls if you dial a number manually?

For the contacts problem, go to the menu (press the stange looking key beside the green key), go to the SIM folder and open the SIM contacts application. Do you see any contact there? If not, then it looks like you don't have any contacts stored on your SIM. Are you sure that you didn't transfer all your SIM contacts to your phone memory on your old phone? If you were able to store email addresses and affect a picture to your contacts on your old phone then chances are that you did transfer then .to your phone memory.

Note also, that if in Canada you are in a region with only 850MHz GSM coverage, then the Sendo X will not work as it needs 1900MHz. It is a triband phone with 900/1800 for Europe and 1900 for North America.

HI!

I've personally used the phone on Fido in toronto and had no problems at all.

You may be having trouble with the automatic band selection so you should goto

tools
settings
network
network band selection

and select 1900Mhz just to be sure.

At this point goto network selection and run a manual search. You should see fido, but if you dont then your in an 850Mhz area and the X does not support this.

Hope this is of some help,

Mw
