Hi everyone, I'm new to this site... A person directed me to this site in howardforums.com Well anyways, I've just purchased the Nokia 9290 Communicator and should be arriving on Friday. I was wondering if anyone knew how to get free software for this particular phone. I don't want to spend money on the Nokia site... Another thing is, the phone has a multimedia flash chip in it, is it able to use any MMC chips? Thanks for your help guys~!

Software -

See the software directory of this site http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/software/directory/

there's quite a bit of freeware in that list. If you wait unntil tomorrow I'll upgrading this section so you can list just freeware programs (this may also explain why it doesn't work at a given time - tomorrow - because I'll be upgrading it.

Yes you can use any MMC card in it. But note you can not use SD cards in it. Some dealer dont see to know the difference.

Update complete I hope 😊 Well at least technically, I'll update some link to reflect extra viewing option tomorrow.

The best i know is 128 MMC (Multimedia card ) and 256 Mb secure digital
are available , now i dont know the diffrence between them . if it works as MMC .. well and good !

mmc works on sd slots, sd doesn't work on mmc slots.

Only buy memorycards with MMC writen on it, even sales persons will try to fool you and try to sell you an SD.

If you already done this, wich is good because shows aas  that you care, Why not make a Trial Directory.

It will make us all to come and stay on AAS site, instead of running :shocked!: all the web sites trying to find wich application suites us well

*sigh* NO SD CARDS 😛

Only cards you can use are MMC cards 😉
Check the cover udner the battery where your sim is. The MMC holder is there 2.

SD cards are the more advanced MMC cards, which are used in camera's and etc...

I'll be updating links later such that you'll be able to choose to view any of the software categories by type (freeware / or bought software) and language (opl / c++ / mobile vb / java / mdip).
