I have had the 6260 for about 3 months and then I recently changed to a powerbook g4 macintosh computer. now I can't sync my stupid phone because the pc suite is for..well bdoh PC! Can somebody help me with my problem... really hard to make full use of a smartphone if the darn thing can't be intergrated with the mac .
also any suggestions as to an alternative to the 6260? I was thinking of selling it and getting something that is more compatible, however...no bright or "smart" ideas yet!
thanks

u dont need to buy a new phone just to sync with a mac. Get iSync for Mac. It works with every model of phone.

No, it doesn't. That is, Apple claims it should work with the 6260, see: http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/isync/devices.html but it sure doesn't work with mine.
When I try to connect (iSync 2.0 (79) on Tiger) I just get an error message that says "iSync can't connect to this unit". I even tried manually installing the Apple iSync Agent on the phone, but it made no difference. iSync has no problems with my old SE P800.
The Mac OS X Bluetooth configuration panel even lists the 6260 as supporting everything under the sun, but iSync still refuses to connect to it.
I've seen others complain about the same problem here on allaboutsymbian, so it's not just me either...

Famous last words.
I have no idea what just happened, but after rebooting everything, deleting the BT peering and trying again, it suddenly worked.
I have now successfully sync'ed my Nokia 6260 using iSync 2.0 on Mac OS X Tiger.
Update: Found out what fixed it: The phone has to be in discoverable mode (in BT) in order for iSync to work, even though it has already been successfully paired to the Mac and the Mac has been authorized to connect automatically.
What Mac are u using? Do u have BT mouse/keyboard?

20.07.2005 Last night I had an idea, and finally got it working:
I've been trying to sync my 6260 with my iMac 20" with Tiger, BT mouse & keyboard. I've had the "iSync can't connect to this unit" message the whole time. What I did was get a wired keyboard/mouse and VOILA: it was syncing perfectly! Before this I never managed to install the "iSync Agent" on the phone, but after having removed all pairing with the iMac (mouse, keyboard and 6260 pairing) and starting over everything worked like a charm... 😊 (Happy, happy) 😃
