Connecting to open WiFi networks

Hi all,

For some reason I'm unable to connect with my 9500 to open WiFi networks. Ive no problem connecting to my wireless network at home.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
dovale

This is a detailed description of my problem:

I've problems connecting to open, i.e., free, without WEP security etc., WiFi networks. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong or what I overlooked.

In Control Panel > Connections > Internet setup I select a given open network (for which I created an Access Point), then I choose 'Advance",
in IP configuration (IPv6DNS mode) I choose either DHCP or Well Known (which works to perfection on my home wireless network) - but neither of the two settings will allow me to connect to any given open network.

Any ideas anyone?!

Ciao,

I was having trouble connecting to some WiFi networks as well but found that if I turn off similtaneous bluetooth in the setup I connect fine.

I too have trouble connecting to some WiFi networks. At home and at a local bread shop it's fine. At some other locations I have to remove the battery, power-up, and then I can connect, but there are still a few areas that I cannot connect with the 9500. One of my favorite coffee shops is this way. So, I don't go as often. :frown:

Is there a firmware update that might fix this? And how do you know which firmware version you have?
