Insert Contact Phone Number in SMS

Hi, I have searched through the forum but can't find an answer to what's bothering me on my 7610... hope someone can help 😊

I've always had Nokias and on all previous models I've been able to insert a contact's phone number into the body of an SMS text message (usually using the 'Insert Contact' option on the menu), however on the 7610 this option doesn't seem to be present - is there any way of doing this?

thanks in advance for your help! 😃

It, indeed, is a missing, but would be nice to have, feature of the Messaging app on Series 60 based phones.

Workaround:

- While writing a message, hit the menu key to switch away from the Messaging app (but leaving it running in the background),

- start the Contacts app,

- find the contact you want,

- open the contact, choose "Edit", choose the number field you want,

- press down the "pencil" key and keep it down & use the left arrow/directional key to select the number and choose "Copy"

- now a long press of the menu key will bring up a list of running apps, including "Messaging", which you select from the list (with the center press of the directional key)

- then when back in the message editor, press and hold the "pencil" key again and choose "Paste"
