I used to surf the web on my 9210 and now 9210i via Orange, now they've for some stupid reason are going to stop there ISP service 😞 😞 😞 . So instead of just paying for the data calls, they recommend I sign up with Freeserve and pay the flat rate charge every month.  :x :x
I rarely use the 9210i for surf web, only to check important emails etc.. ever now and then.
Anyone got any Free ISP's were I don't have to pay a flat rate every month, just for the data calls.
The data call cost used to be around 10p per minute with orange.
Orange are already taking the Piss, when they release all new phones 6 months after everyone, making people like me pay the full offline cost for a phone! :x :x :x
Any advice would be very much appreciated. 😉 😉
Belgium has nothing but free isp. You only pay for your call. Only the full 24/24 7/7 cable internet/ adsl is a monthly fee.
Don't you have any free ISP who provide dial in? Remember that you can use normal isp, they do't have to be focused on gsm.
Here in the Uk nothing is free when it comes to the internet as far as i'm aware. They all offer free 3 month trials but you have to load up a CD etc... and after that its a 15 per month, which is a bit excessive if you only use about 2-3 hours if that on the net a month via the 9210i

We can get a cd and even sign up online.
Shitty if they don't do that in the UK.
My condolances ...
Tell me about! Its why they call it 'RIP OFF BRITAIN' because everything here is over priced, phones, cars. :x :x For example a Porsche TURBO is 88000 new in the UK in Germany it is 65000 new! A 1.8 Golf is 16000 new in UK in Belgium its only 13000! A total rip off!
Its why the main car dealers are suffering now as many 1000's of car owners are shopping abroad for there new cars!
Another example of a car rip is Ferrari, A 550 maranello is 160k in UK belgiun price is 110 new! Now how much of a rip off is that! :agrue: :agrue:
Freeserve Do a no monthly fee - just pay for your call signup as do lots of others ISP's including Plusnet (www.plus.net), freeisp.co.uk, uk2.net, etc....
Just search yahoo for free isp's - there are LOTS of them.
Regards
We do not have free ISP here in Romania for GSM Data calls.
If you use WAP is 0.09 USD/minute
If you use regular ISP(not GSM) got to pay 0,30 USD
Expensive enough

Thanks I'II be looking further into these!
I contacted my ISP that I use for my PC at home. They provide me with ADSL for a monthly fee. They gave me a dial up number and connection settings and I use that to surf from my 9210i and also to send and receive emails.
I see no reason why this could not be done with a regular modem connection.
I use Tesco.net on my 9210. I think you can pick up a CD from their customer advice desks.
But I don't want to pay anything, and I don't require Net connection @ home because I have connection @ work, but i've signed up woth a few free one's now so i'm OK!
My 9210 runs an o2 Pay as You Go sim - for 10 a month top up you get 10 worth of phone calls, 300 free text messages, and 300 free WAP minutes - this last freebie lets me email, wap and WWW on the 9210 for free!
I got my brand new, sealed and unregistered sim for 12 quid on ebay - they sell at 39.99 direct from 02.
Registration took a few seconds, cost 10 to get the first top up and I was merrily emailing, and surfing within minutes!
i use FREEISP. as the name says it is a free isp. you only pay for the calls you make.
CONNECTION NAME : FreeISP
PHONE NUMBER: 08456671011
You will have to register with them which is again free.
www.freeisp.co.uk / com
i think.
Yeah it is the same for me mine is also free as i only pay for the call charges! 😃
I found that freeserve would not work on my 9210i so I logged on to BTopenworld and set up an anytime account where you only pay for calls then transfered the setting (ie) telephone number passwords etc to the internet settings on 9210i it works fine but you must make sure the "Show your number" is active in settings and not "Do not send own number
