OK. Here's another diehard yahoo user>>> 😊

No. U cant use yahoo mail to download attachments ( it needs a secure connection which is not supported by most (almost none) networks). You can only do this on Pop3 which yahoo only has as a paid service. So u pay to get yahoo pop3 :-?

Hei...

I am also a yahoo user.......and I wish to use it as long as I and yahoo lives(and keeps it free or within limits)

i set my 7650 up to read my yahoo mail it was dead easy, i send my self emails with attachments in them, and check them from my phone and the attachments DO WORK,

if u need help setting up yshoo just post a reply

i possible could i have the settings, would love to be able to send myself attachments, wouldnt have to keep going round my m8ts to use his mums bluetooth connetion, yes i did say his mum!!!!

do u have the connection on gprs or gsm?

Neo, What is ur setting like? Is it on POP3? We could access Yahoo mail on only wap, which ofcourse does'nt support attachments. And pop3 is paid. Are u paying yahoo for the service?
As far as my knowledge goes, Yahoo stopped free POP3 last April or May.

Regards

Are you guys who have it working using GPRS?

I don't wanna pay the ridiculous GPRS charges, and just use the Nokias email facilities over a normal Orange data connection. It always dials OK, but I get 'general system error' when I try to receive messages. Is this because of my settings for Yahoo, or do I need GPRS?

thanks!

It depends what ISP you use! If u use WAp you wont be able to do it!

I use my regular ISP that I used for my PC! (The Dialup - that is )

Hmm, well today, using my Demon Internet standard dial-up account, I was able to receive Yahoo email. But i couldn't post using it, just got 'General System Error' - any hints?

thanks

Russ

Have you checked your incoming and outgoing mail servers?

pop.yourisp.com
smtp.yourisp.com

or it could be mail.yourisp.com

Ring up or look on their website for the settings.

Well, yes, now i have had to switch to using my DEMON (ISP) servers to send mail, even though I'd rather use Yahoo. Then I have to use Yahoo to receive my (yahoo) mail - at least the receiving part works.

thanks

Russ

sorry about the delay in reply to this topic it's just that this forum is getting too busy, lol

my settings for yahoo mailbox are:

My email address: your emal address obviously
Outgoing mail server: smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk
Username: your username (case sensitive)
Password: your password
Incoming mail server: pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk
mailbox type: pop3

now i can recieve emails and attachments with this but i cant send, so i gave up and went to pc world and bought an infrared for #50 lol
