Is anyone aware of ANY alternate software for handwriting on the A1000? While I can pretty much write with my opposite thumb while driving on my P800, I find the system on the A1000 is cumbersome and clunky, impairs viewing half the screen, results in far more taps (and the need to look at the screen at all times to enter anything accurately).
Aside from that the phone (still new to me) seems pretty good, though the fact that they've just announced the M1000 with Wi-Fi is killing me, however if I can't do something about the handwriting entry, I will be dumping this for another SE
Help???
Thanks,

This is killing me. The klunky handwriting input functionality of the A1000 is painfully bad, especially in comparison to the truly glorious performance of the much older P800. In addition to "grafiti" that is much less flexible, the sheer number of touches to the screen required for simple tasks slows entry to a crawl, increases the number of entry errors astronomically (for me anyway), and because half the screen is obscured by the entry area at any given time, it makes filling out forms onerous inded. I am astonished that with the SE's to use as a template, anyone in their right mind would have thought that the current mode of text recogniction in the A1000 is remotely acceptable.
It's a tragic flaw because aside from this fatal design error, the phone really does perform quite exceptionally. I am also sincerely surprised by and disappointed in the numerous reviewers that failed to make light of this issue. I guess that most people use on-screen virtual keyboards, pecking away with a stylus, and thus, they didn't really give the other input mode a true test. I have and I can honestly say that now that I've struggled with it for a full week, and to paraphrase Kartman from South Park, it "sucks ass".
If anyone knows of an alternate input solution please, please make it known. I am mere moments from putting this phone (and a boatload of new accessories) up for sale on eBay...
