Here our cell service provider is offering web to sms chat (This is just for subscribers this company) You just log in by putting any name and send the sms , so you will just see a name i.e Jenifer Lopez and the Text
it might be that kind of thing

There are also some apps that let you send sms from any number or name though internet gateways.
i.e have a look at crazysms.com they also give a list of apps that work with it etc bla bla bla
