6680 on O2 ( UK ) ?

As you will see by my post count, new to the world of Symbian and Nokia, so a bit of a noob question.

Does anyone know when the 6680 will be available with O2 in the UK ? Do O2 have a 3G network or will the phone just be working on the GSM / GPRS networks ?

If the latter, I am just better off with buying a SIM free device from Expansys or similar ?

I read somewhere ( may have been here, maybe not ) that O2 are one of the few companies not to mess around with the badging or functionality of the device. Can anyone confirm this ?

I have had a mobile from work for so many years now, I have completely lost touch with the market. If you go for a pay monthly 12 month contract, do you actually get to own the phone at the end of the contract period ?

Thanks for bearing with me 😊

i'd buy a sim free device if i were you. i did this and ok it was 400 but i get to choose what my main screen looks like and not o2.....3g not available on o2 yet and yes you do get to keep the phone if you get a contract, in fact the phone is yours from day 1 as it is the sim and air time you pay for, as stated on my last contract the phone (p910i) is not part of the contract...
