I just called SE in Belgium again! Now they say the P800 will be available in february!!!!! This is beginning to be a game for them i guess?! :x

SE UK say middle of Jan 2003, but they say thats not set it stone!!! NO you dont say and I thought this was'nt the 15'th date you've told me.

I'm hearing different dates in different places. SE are very carefully setting up infrastructure so that operators support the phone (i.e. all working out of the box).
Best guest at present it first devices December (very limited) and in stores end of January.

I've stuffed the P800 to the back of my mind!, i've got my 7650 for now and it's great. The P800 will get here when it gets here. As long as i can browse AAS from my phone i'm happy

The 60 series is old news. Its based on the symbian OS6.
The P800 is the first device to feature symbian OS7.
Its NEW! If it arrives today or tommorow, its still going to be NEW.
I'm sure its just the first of many devices based on OS7.
The Series 60 is able to support the Symbian OS 7.0 in later releases! Its a matter of upgrade from Nokia. Your comparison is invalid! Anyways, the P800 may be using the OS 7.0 but SE have a problem using the 7.0 thus the delay!

I just noticed worldwide sony ericsson websites are announcing the P800.
Just look for "Coming soon" within "Products".
Anyone experienced with sonyericsson "Coming soon" could let us know if it means days, weeks or months (not even mentioning which year) 😉
As for the COMING SOON the notice has been there for a long long time....let me say 6 months....man...this is getting quite annoying and i am pretty getting sick of my 7650 now....come on SE bring out the goods.....

I do not think that they are going to cancel the thing...i know that the P800 is already through with production and it should be under going more testing.....ummmmmm....COME ON SE.
P800 is in hard testing right now. SE make builds almost every day. Last devices is much more stable then the first ones. I think they will hit market very soon. 😉

yeah but the thing is that it pretty is a good thing that they are going to more testing as i think that most of us would love to have a at least 95% bug free phone and thinking that the P800 is pretty advanced it should have quite a few things that SE sould be smoothing out...so...yeah i could wait a bit longer...but SE please not that much longer....
man oh man, the 7650 people are going to so want the p800 😊 Played with it yesterday, also with the 7650. 😊

Well all my impressions are based on a few minutes of play but it is really fast and the way you control it (scrollwheel and stylus) is way better then the strange 7650 stick (don't like the stick 😛 ) 😊
I've played around with a few apps and they launched way faster then I'm used to with the 9210 and it seemed(!) to go faster than the apps on the 7650.
In general I was impressed by it. But I'll post further comments later, don't have much time on my hands right now 😉
Hmmm.. now i'm seriously reconsidering getting a P800 after getting sucked into the O2/pocket pc world then disappointed. well it is good, but it doesn't have that "I-have-it-all-in-one-device" feeling. The P800 comes real close! But i really wanna see the new communicator making a bold statement!

I refuse to get rid of my 7650, I think I'll have that for ages.
The reason I was trying to convince myself that I didn't want one is I can get a new phone now as one of my contracts has just ended, but the P800 won't be out until next year. Thinking about it though, what other choice do I have?, I could get a 9210i but then there is supposed to be a new communicator coming out in the not so distant future.

Yeah the new communicator, if that manages to have all nokia's cool specs, plus a little bonuses like SD card support or something, with camera and bluetooth and Fm radio and a super handsfree. That would be something!
But i can't wait no more, for the new communicator it'll probably be realesed by summer!
