Memory Mystery With Messages

I am using Memory card space to my Messages and I just transfer my all messages to my phone(NO Bluetooth Trsfered Message, No Files, No Images) Only Text Messages.
Suddenly it says LOW MEMORY
I just saw the memory and its having
Mem in Use: 9316kb
Free Mem: 612kb
Calender:7kb
Contacts:47kb
Documents:238b
Images:0b
Sound files:0b
Video Files:0b
Messages:1102kb

And when I delete the Mail Folder in C:\System
I got the following Memory
Mem in use: 1812
Free Memory: 8116
Calender:7kb
Contacts:47kb
Documents:238b
Images:0b
Sound files:0b
Video Files:0b
Messages:0b

How can i free my Extra Space as its been hard for me to keep in Phone memory.
I have Made a Back Up of ONLY MESSAGES with P.C Suite But the Problem is still the same.
I am Having 1600 Approx ONLY TEXT AND SOME PICTURE MESS(NOT MMS)Old Text Messages
I used to keep 2800 Messages in My 7650 and Still the Memory was Remaing.

You're being hit by cluster size issues when dealing with many tiny files. Do you REALLY need to keep 1600 old text messages on your phone? Why not archive them off somewhere?
