Gmail and Nokia 6680

Hi all,

I can succesfully connect, and it just grabs the headers, but it brings ALL of my e-mails from my Gmail account onto my phone? Even the ones that I have archived in Gmail? Anyway to stop this? I just want the ones that are in my inbox?

Also once the message header is displayed on my 6680 I can't seem to delete it!? When I say 'delete' it gives me the option of 'Phone' or 'Phone and Server' - so I say 'Phone' as I want to leave it on the Gmail server, but it then pops up 'header will be saved in phone memory'....! but thats what I'm trying to delete!!!

Any help greatly appreciated.... James.

go to gmail's main 'SETTINGS' - "Forwarding and POP' and choose 'Enable POP only for mail that arrives from now on' so your incoming emails will be filtered.

with regards to deleting emails from your phone, it will not delete until you log in to your gmail account then do a 'Retrieve email' again on your phone, that will update your phone.

i have the same problem, what do you mean with retrive email?? please, explain more..

Thanks for the tips. I've done the thing in Gmail but it doesn't really help. Say I get 4 e-mails a day and I archive each of them, they all still come to my Nokia 6680. Whether they are in my inbox of gmail or not.

So are you saying that they will only dissapear from my Nokia 6680 once I have deleted them from the Gmail server?

Shady.

delete your gmail account on your phone (just make sure you have changed your POP settings and deleted all your emails at gmail.com) then re-create your account on your phone.
