Thanks, I've just posted something on the front page!

Hi,

I've downloaded the latest version (6.6) Anyone else having problems with it, I tried to send a text message as the previous version didn't support symbian phones but when I click on; To it's saying "no contacts found" yet the contacts are on my phone (6630) and in the contacts folder in file manager and also in the contacts section of Microsoft Outlook.

Also when I do a back-up from phone to PC it's saying in the log "Failed to copy the following data, Contacts C:\Systems\Data\Contacts.cdb" I've had this on all the versions of PC Suite I have installed. My 6630's firmware is V 3.43.113. I tried downloading it a couple of times yet it's the same, so is anyone else having problems, thanks.

Sometimes the contacts DB in phone can be "locked" by many users, so you might try to boot your phone (take even battery out for a moment) and then try again. Should help for backup situation at least, maybe helps you in syncronising the contacts also. If you want to send a text message a nd try if it works, just type the number to the "to" field.

Hi Manta,

Switched off phone and removed/replaced battery and then backed up from phone to PC and this time that worked no more error fault: "Failed to copy the following data, Contacts C:\Systems\Data\Contacts.cdb" so that great thanks.

Still no joy with trying to send a text via text message editor, clicking on; To brings up the choose recipient dialog box but it's showing under contacts no contacts found. I've also tried clicking on the open icon and then clicking on the contacts folder but I get a dialog box, saying "browsing to this folder disabled". I then tried coping the number from the contacts folder in file manager and paste this in the To box but that doesn't work either.?!

What if you just type the recipient phone number (your own, for starters) to the text message editor, to get it going (for the first time it'll also install a SMSsync app on the phone).

After that, it took me a couple of times of pushing "Refresh" in the dialog that opens when you press the "To:" button to get the list to appear. It didn't do anything the first time, but the second time the contacts list from the phone was there.

This with a 6680.

Hi N/A,

I did as you suggested and put my Dad's mobile number in the To box and then type the message, pressed the send icon and off it went but still no joy with the contacts side of thing even pressing the refresh button a number of times it's still showing no contents found do'h
