P910i Keypad Problem

2 replies · 2,949 views · Started 05 July 2005

Hello,

Recently my P910i keypad (flip closed) which I use quite often started misbehaving. The keys put different texts at times, for example if I press k I might get P. I'd have to delete the entry and try again, often several times to get the right character. I havent observed if the keys always respond in a similar fashion, i.e k = p always. What I do notice is that the # key usually responds with the CAPs change key ( * key)

It happens about 2 - 3x a day and it irritates me coz I'd have to be almost stationary to send sms using the touchscreen, or if Im in a moving vehicle... Anyway, I removed the flip altogether to spare me.

I dont know if the flip is faulty.

Cheers.

That happened with mine too. Guess what, your flip is failing. In several weeks if not days, your flip will completely unuseable. I suspect it happens because i kept my phone on my pocket. Now i use it case and wear it on the belt. The constant pressure on the keypad is bad. Too bad I just realise it now. Now i just use the virtual keypad when I make call. Sorry. Try to use case, who know you still can save it.

Thanks for your reply.

I never put it in my pocket and wear it with the case on my belt. But I think you are on point about the over use of the flip since I text most of the times using it.
