I've had my 6680 for about 2 months. No problems. I purchased a Non Nokia 256k MMC. I've always stored my messages on the MMC. I formatted new card on phone and then transferred all data from old 64k MMC via Card reader on PC, to new MMC. I now find that when I change my MMC card (Hot Swap), I can't receive SMS or Voice Box Notifications untill I switch phone off and back on.
Anybody else have this problem?
I presume it's related to the MMC as I've never had this problem before

Maybe you should first have used "Messagin" app to change the "Memory in use" back to phone memory first, and after copying everything else to the new card, change it again to the memory card.
I always use phone memory for messages, but install all apps, themes & put all sounds, pics, etc., on the memory card. I've never run out of space on the phone (C-drive) with that approach. I do have lots of contacts and calendar appointments, but not that many messages (I don't see much point in saving them for long).
