Now, after the remarkable work of (ex)sendo workers, i suppose most of us will keep our x for some time (me included).
But what is your future plans for phone exchange?
I'm thinking in buy an nokia n70 by the end of the year (maybe a little later).
Until then, i hope that my x still work like charm as it is now! 😊
And you?
Next upgrade
I thought you were going to ask about another firmware update 😉
For my next phone - I really don't know anymore. I had planned my whole phone buying strategy around the release of the X2 - it was going to become my main music / calling phone, with my 6680 for data (because it's 3G).
Now...the N70 doesn't offer an amazing amount over and above my 6680 (although to say the 6680 is buggy and a pain to use is a big understatement 😊), the main problem is that it's shape makes it that little bit less comfortable to use than my X (or X2 would have been).
I think I'm going to have to wait and see what else comes out - the Panasonic X800 looks nice (and I should be getting one anyway), but it can't do MP3 playback and it's camera is only VGA. Maybe Samsung will *finally* release one of their S60 handsets, and maybe it will be good 😊
Yes, i've read about the problems on 6680 (now, who laughting at who, nokia users? 😉 ).
The n70 finally have a decent amount of internal memory (same as x, i think), and looks better than 6680.
But i'll miss is the firmware upgrades at home (my previous phones were siemens s55 and sl45 so i'm used to it for a long time) :frown:
I don't know what i should use as next handset, but i'm looking forward for the N-Series from Nokia now, since i think the X2 is never making it to the streets.
Any other ideas? I would like to stick to Series 60.
Cheers, murphy
I still want an X2!!!

Me too!
It's highly unlikely we'll ever see the X2 get released though 😞
my next planned upgrade was an X2, i dont know what i'll go for next.....
*wonders whats going to happen to all the developers x2's*
Yeah I wonder too...But isn't there a slight chance that Voda will pick it up in the uk or is that just a rumour? After the X I'd like to stick to a series60 handset. Maybe the n70 or n91...

It's just a rumour, but one we ALL hope will come true!
In that case my only chance is if someone can unlock it because i use another operator (and i don't plan to switch).
Hey All,
Nice helpful forum. I've just recently done the 'upgrade' thing, because this is the second Sendo X I've had (Vodafone sorted me out with a replacement when the original's mic stopped working) and the mic has stopped working *again* Grrrr! I might have a go at a self-repair based on pics and info elsewhere in the Forum....
Anyway.....
I bought a second-hand Treo 600 off a mate, and I love it. I'm probably going to get a Treo 650 when the Sendo X Vodafone contract expires. Treo 600 = 160x160 touch-screen, lots of Palm software, SD slot (change SD card whilst phone on), SIM-card slot (change SIM card without rebooting phone), great speaker-phone, great MP3 player (use 2.5mm - 3.5mm stereo conversion plug bought off Ebay), great smartphone. The 650 is even better with 320x320 hi-res transreflective display, bluetooth, faster cpu.
Truly the Treo 650 is an amazing phone, and currently that is where my sights are aimed. (Oh.... and there won't be any mic design flaws with it, unlike Sendo!)
Rgds,
Ed0.
The thing i ask myself is, what do the guys at sendo do with the Sendo X2's that they already manufactured do they throw them away or something like it??
They should have a lot in stock i guess, i'd like to have one, even its just for the sake of having it. 😉 😉

One of the things not known outside of Sendo is just how many X2s exist. I've heard various different numbers, ranging from not a lot to loads.
What's going to happen to them is a very interesting question - they're obviously going to get put in the hands of the receivers (they're an asset which Motorola haven't bought) - whether they can then realistically get used as an asset is pretty unlikely. Also, as they contain Nokia IP (in the form of Series 60) only a company with a Series 60 license can take them on. It's not known what's going to happen to Sendo's Series 60 license, or even if it is still valid.
There's a possibility, much as it pains me to say it, that they'll just get crushed 😡
If they crush them, they will get punished, i hope
is there any other mp3 player that works well with sendo x cos the ones ive tried so far are nil :icon13:

You should try crosscoding to ogg and use OGGPlay. It runs here like a charm.
That would be my advice too. If you search around this forum, you'll find that there really are no good mp3players that work as good as the oggplayer. Two things that made me choose the oggplayer were: The phone stops playing when you receive a call, and after you're finished talking the phone automatically continues from were it paused. Second, the size of an ogg: At the same quality of an xxxkbps mp3 it's half it's size! So I'd say, start converting your mp3 collection! Good luck!
Bump up this old thread to say that i already preorder my x successor.
After months wainting for the nokia n70, changed my mind and my choice is wm5 based: qtek 9100.
I hope it'll give so much joy as my x (working really well these day, with n70 theme)

It would be great if you could let us know once you'll have used your new toy for a while how Windows Mobile compares with Symbian series 60. I mean, large screen, keyboard and extra power put aside, how does WM handles day-to-day tasks such as making phone calls, managing meetings with the calendar, taking short notes, reading and writing SMS, looking up words in a third party dictionnary, multi-tasking between all that... compared with the X. I've heard vague things on the topic but it never seemed to come from people who had really experienced both OS and were objective.
Back on the topic, until now, no other smartphone seemed good enough to me to replace my X but the new Nokia E60 and E61 and the SE P990 really look great on the paper. If they live up to their promises, i'm pretty sure that one of them is going to be the successor of my X.
