GPRS traffic counter

My GPRS traffic counter is showing 83.99GB data sent and 49.77GB received. This is obviously an error, i have only used GPRS for about 30 mins @ most.
I am running the latest firmware (1.198.8.2 - with the GPRS fix).

I anyone else having this problem?

Yep, it does seem to have a problem with units. I just cleared my counters, then browsed three pages of www.sendomsartphones.com, and the counters now think I've sent and received 28.00GB of data 😮

(I have to say though, a fix is unlikely)

The wrong figures are probably just a calculation error within the phone. There may be a constant number that we could divide the values by to get an idea of actual GPRS usage. Any ideas?

Having two phones, one with the old firmware would help I guess! I'm still on the old firmware so could help do a test browsing the same web pages. Let me know.

If anyone wants to repeat my test...

1) Download NetFront from http://www.access-sys-eu.com/index.php?id=853
2) Clear your GPRS counters
3) Browse to www.sendosmartphones.com. Let the page load fully, then scroll to the main menu. (allowing all loading to finish)
4) Click on the Software Downloads link. Let the page load fully, then scroll to the Firmwares category. (allowing all loading to finish)
5) Click on the Firmwares link. Let the page load fully, then scroll to the bottom (allowing all loading to finish)

Then exit without going back to any previous pages and look up your GPRS counters. Mine was 24GB in and 24GB out.

I've just found out that your website is restricted by Vodafone Content Control! I didn't know it was that sort of web site 😉

I might be a bit longer while I prove to Vodafone that I'm over 18.

LOL 😊 Honest, there's nothing on my website which is only suitable for 18 year olds 😉

I'm having trouble loading that website with the included Opera browser - it seems to get stuck half way. (I haven't downloaded the other one)

I'll do some tests myself before and after I upgrade my phone and post the results, this weekend hopefully.

I forgot to do the tests before I upgraded the phone. Sorry :frown:

Is there anyone else out there that can do a couple of GPRS tests before and after the upgrade?
