Can a txt msg be forged?

Let me tell you a little story. My ex gf said she got a txt from my friend that says bad stuff about me. I didn't believe her, but when she showed me the txt it was from his phone number. She has a 3230, and not sure what he has or if it matters. Is it possible for her to somehow show a txt from his number, but it be a fake? It show +1626yadayada(his number) and it showed the time and date he was at my place, so i would presume she wouldn't have access to it at that time, but her phone time and date could always be changed to recieve something and pretend it came on the 4th. You get what i'm saying. I really need to know.

Thanx

i think they can and i've tried but not fully succeeded. What i did was using FExplorer i went to C://system/mail/00001001_s (the main mail folder) and went through the files there.

i copied some over to my mmc and opened them in notepad on my computer and the content was "h<.h<.K...p.......c....f.%:. *message as it appears in sms* . )4..........6O....4"

what i did was change the message part and then save the file with the same name and extension and put it on the mmc then copied it back to the same folder on the phone i found it in with FExplorer.

Sadly it didn't work as the messages came up as they were before in the screen which shows all the msgs so you can scroll through and it doesn't open the message at all.

I dont know if i have to do something else to change the message on the sms scroll screen to make it work but its possible i reckon.

I think i solved it. I had the guy send me a copy of his bill, but he forgot to change the time, date, and city, so he gave me a bill that shows he sent a txt to someone at that exect moment. I called the number and it duznt exhist. So I know he did send a txt to my gf. Just had to do some old fashion research.
