Horizontal In-car holder for the 9500

Hi All,

I'm currently looking at GPS/SATNav for my 9500. After reading Steve's reviews, I must say that the TOMTOM 5 options is looking quite impressive.

I was wondering if anybody has come across a carkit/phone holder for the 9500, that allows the clamshell to remain open?

Thanks in advance!

Irregular

I asked this same question on the forum of my-symbian.com, I was given a few sites to look at, but in the end I opted for a cheap magnet from carphonewarehouse (although I did need another magnet for the back of my phone to stop it rocking).

All in all, I think it cost 4.99

So far I have found 2 places selling a car holder for my 9500,

www.communicator-shop.de

I ordered my holder from there,

Or,

www.mobilefun.co.uk/navicore

Ok, so the holder comes with the Navicore software (Worth considering),

I have had my TomTom Mobile 5 on order for over 2 weeks and still no delivery, Navicore is available for 2-3 day delivery from Mobile Fun,

If only I'd known that before I ordered from TomTom, :frown:

There is one problem with the holder, it has damaged the paint on my 9500 where the handsfree would clip on, (The 2 side indents),

Carl,

Thanks for the advise and comments....

...I'll come back with more details of my final purchases, when they have been made.

Thanks again,

Irregular

Carl,

Do these systems work in the us? I see that navicore comes with an mmc card with UK streets on it, can you download us maps too?

As far as I know, TomTom do have US maps but they are not available on the 9500 yet,
www.tomtom.com

Navicore only appear to be doing European maps so far,
