I know it stands for High Speed Circuit Switched Data...
but what does it do exactly and where can it be used?
Are there any known telcos that are offering HSCSD based service?

Orange Uk offers this service. Its for high speed data up to 40k/s well in the Uk only aprox 20.

I think it runs somewhere around 23k which is lightspeed compaired with my 9.6k :x
HSCSD speeds are between 14,4 - 43,2 kbit/sec.
depending how many GSM channels are used.

Yes I was meaning Orange ran @ around that speed, I wish Vodafone would get their act together and sort it out :x

Yeh I know what you mean... Im starting out with T-Mobile they were one of the first to start GPRS services in this country but now they are listed as a non-GPRS provider (according to website)... Carfone Warehouse/Phones4U are telling me otherwise... I wonder wether they will ever offer HSCSD... {dream}

Orange Uk runs at 28.8kb/s for HSCSD.. data calls cost 21ppm ex vat to all prefixes except Orange mobile prefixes which cost 17ppm ex vat.
