After experiencing most of the known bugs with the 9500 I finally delivered it for a firmware upgrade (V 04.51). When the phone was away for service I used my old 9210 in the meantime and realized that most functions was actually faster on the three year old 9210 than my new 9500.
After the upgrade the telephone is still slow. For instance the web browser will still use 3-4 minutes to open the webpage of a major newspaper, this with a WIFI 4Mbit broadband connection!!
Another recurring problem is the unexpected breakdown of the browser caused by CMdaAudioOutputS. Does anybody know how to avoid this problem?

VG.no? If so, that page is HUGE - about 1MB with about 125 images, which Opera has to render for the 9500's screen. This is what takes time. Really big sites with a lot of images, java script etc. will take several minutes to fully load. There are a few things that might help a little, such as increasing the cache size, turning off simultaneous bluetooth usage and turning off the 'fit to screen' option, but generally I'd advice people to look for mobile/PDA optimised sites or WAP sites where available (wap.vg.no), or simply turning off images.
I think the browser is fine for what it is intended for. I always avoid the biggest sites when I browse on my 9300 or 9500. Smaller/medium sized pages loads OK.

Never experienced that error. Might be some system files that have gotten corrupt. I'd suggest a reformat.
I haven't had any stability issues at all on my 9300 (v.4.53) or 9500 (v.4.51).
As for speed, just avoid that Exit button and leave your most used apps open. The 9500, unlike the 9210, has plenty of free RAM for multitasking.

I did! The first thing to be checked is 3rd party software, specially Psiloc's "common" components which are supposed to make sure you aren't using their products illegally. After having not only uninstalled all Psiloc packages but also removed manually remaining dross, the system is now reliable. Some sporadic problems seem to occur too with Symbianware's Powerdesk.
