Hi folks,
I just got a new 6600 unlocked and I'm looking to connect it to my computer. Is bluetooth the only way to do this? I am interested in putting games on this phone mainly. Does my cpmputer also need to be bluetooth ready ? or does the dongle they sell at best buy or circuit city suffice? Thanks in advance for all ur help

you can also use IR, or an even easier way is to use a data cable, but I'm assuming you didn't get one...

The BT dongle they sell in the electronics stores should suffice. Once you get it plugged in, it will install whatever is necessary, so your computer doesn't have to be BT-ready. You will also need to install Nokia PC Suite as well before transferring anything onto the phone.

as for games, there are quite a few games available for 6600 as well java games.
you might even get some Ngage games to work on it, but so far i havent had any success on my 6620.

Good luck with your new purchase 😊

There is no data cable for the 6600 to use (the phone doesn't have a port/connector where to plug one in, even). So, Bluetooth or infrared/IrDA it is (or you can use a PC based memory card reader).

The only cable one can connect is one for flashing the phone (and that connector is under the battery).

Thanks for all your help guys, i just ordered a bluetooth adapter from buy.com, its going to be like $8 after rebates. Im looking forward to putting all those awesome games and apps on my phone.
