6680 MMC rs card problems

Hi Guys, new to the forum here. I'm having a problem with my phone and MMC card. I have bought a Kingston 256mb MMC rs card and when I put it into the phone nothing happens. If I look up the Menu>Tools>Memory card...it says no card installed. The phone wont recognise it at all. have I bought the wrong card?

Is this a voltage issue?? I notice the card thats in the phone is a 3.0v and the Kingston is a 3.3v. :frown:

Any help welcome.

Also,I notice on the kingston website they have two types of MMC rs cars and one does say dual voltage.......Am I now out of pocket for buyin the wrong one?

Richie

The 6680 needs the dual-voltage (DV) kind (one that supports both ~1.8V and ~3.3V as this phone uses 1.8V, which means that 3.3V-only cards will not work).

I have a 256MB Kingston DV RS-MMC (also known as "MMCmobile"😉 card, and so far it has worked fine (I've used it for 2-3 months now).

Thanks a lot...that makes things a lot clearer!! Off to the shops I go so!

Yes. For example, the 7610, 6670, 3230 and 6260 can use the single-voltage RS-MMC card.

Actually, any old phone that supports full-size MMC's can too (with the adapter you should have gotten with the card).
